Art Exhibition
I am taking submissions from jewelers, glassmakers and wood carvers who would like to join this show 'Freedom Sensation 2012' in May in the wonderful location of Lyme Regis at the large bright and airy Town Mill Malthouse (TMM) - a popular arena for regular art exhibitions that attract many holiday goers and local interest.
Please take a look at my website to see my work, so that you can decide if you think your work would fit before you send me anything via email.
Application Requirements
• All jewelry, glasswork and woodwork are accepted. All work must be original; no reproductions of original work may be submitted.
• Please provide a link to your website and/or six .jpeg files of your work, no bigger than MB each.
• Provide a biography and how you approach your work.

I have been harvesting my seeds, flowers and herbs over the last month or so, as you can see from the photographs above ... and amongst these have been Fennel Seeds. They create such a lovely pungeant sweet smell that wafts for days across the kitchen! But not only that, they can be used to in so many ways to improve your health including treating infants with colic .... and keep the fleas away!

I don't know about you, but for me it's that time of year when I like to start baking ... baking the nice winter comfort food to keep me warm as the nights draw in and the cold begins to set in. And, of course, as much as possible I like to use the ingredients from my wonderful organic garden that I have flourishing right outside my back door.

In dogs, but also in cats, skin allergies are rife. They all to often end up having to live a lifetime of unease and stress unless treated successfully.
And I can happily report a case where what was a very unhappy dog - has been treated successfully. You can see from the photos the difference from the beginning and the end of the treatment (unfortunatley I did not take a picture of her tummy before the first treatment, but you can still see the marked difference).

This is considered the hardest part of sculpting for some ….. hollowing out a sculpture after all the time and effort that you have spent getting the clay to take the form that you want, so that the whole thing doesn’t simply blow up in the kiln. If this were to happen, not only would it be terribly sad to see so much work go to waste….but it may also damage other work in the kiln – and that simply would not do!
Here are a few photos I have put together to show you the tricky process of hollowing out…..
First of all, bear in mind that the finished article looks like this:

I have been painting for over a decade now and over the years I have sold many of my paintings - but not all.
The opportunity to buy from this body of my work (1999-2009) at Affordable Studio Sale prices only happens once in a lifetime - and that time is now. I must tidy up my studio and allow room for the new ... (this is not really due to lack of space, just wanting to free up my head space more - like a spring brain clean, lol). However, if you have your eye on work from 2009 or after please don't be disappointed, it will not be included in this sale, sorry about that!
If you interested in coming along (date/time/venue still to be announced) please register your interest with me via email at liz@lizvenus.com and I will email you with details once they are confirmed. Alternatively bookmark this page and watch out for the post when it comes in.

2011 has been a busy year for me; and having just redesigned my website from scratch this area is a little thin on the ground at the moment. So WATCH THIS SPACE for updates for Christmas and 2012!
